Lawrence & Natalie O'Connor
Meet Lawrence and Natalie O’Connor, proud owners of Primrose School of Schertz. Native Texans, they are thrilled to bring high-quality early education to the Schertz community.
Lawrence and Natalie were first introduced to Primrose through their good friends, Tommy and Anna Thompson, owners of Primrose School of Round Rock at Forest Creek and Primrose School of Pflugerville at Falcon Pointe. At the time, Lawrence and Natalie were still dating, but their shared love of education and learning brought them closer together. The couple was married in October of 2014 and quickly began looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity that would allow them to share their passion for education with their community. When they discovered there was a need for high-quality early education close to their San Antonio neighborhood, they immediately turned to the Thompsons to help them bring Primrose to the growing Schertz community.
“We wanted to give back to this great community we call home,” said Lawrence. “As we think about starting our own family, we really wanted to create a fun and nurturing environment where parents can feel good about leaving their children.”
Lawrence and Natalie have both enjoyed successful careers in the corporate world. Before becoming full-time Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Schertz, Natalie was a director with Workforce Solutions Alamo, a state and federally funded organization that helps people find jobs and administers training and support services to job seekers so that they can obtain and maintain employment, and Lawrence was a commercial real estate broker and partner at HPI Real Estate Services and Investments, leading the company’s San Antonio office.
With Natalie’s expertise in management, quality control and operations, and Lawrence’s sales, real estate and business development background, they believe they are an ideal match to achieve success within the Primrose Schools family. Lawrence and Natalie have always had a love of learning, one of the things that drew them to each other. Both graduated in the top 5 percent of their high school classes and both completed the prestigious Plan II Honors Degree at The University of Texas at Austin.
“We both come from families of educators, and we know how important education is, especially for young children,” said Natalie. “That’s why we are so excited to offer a caring and nurturing atmosphere at our school that fosters curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.”
In addition to their impressive education and career accomplishments, Lawrence and Natalie are also dedicated to community service. They are active volunteers at San Antonio Pets Alive, where Natalie serves on the board of directors. Natalie and Lawrence are also members of the Texas Biomedical Founder’s Council, an organization of community advocates and financial supporters of The Texas Biomedical Research Institute. And, Lawrence spent two and a half years serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia. They are committed to teaching the importance of servant leadership in their school.
Lawrence and Natalie welcomed their first child, a daughter, into their family in April 2020, and then welcomed their second child, a son, in March 2022.
