Welcome to Primrose School of Ankeny at Prairie Trail! Owners Lyndi McVey, Sean McVey, and Megan Sifert are excited to welcome you to their school!

As Midwesterners who met at Drake University, Lyndi and Sean have always valued education. With two children of their own, early childhood education was of the utmost importance to the family and they were excited to bring the first Primrose school to Iowa!

The McVeys first discovered the Primrose difference while living in Orlando, Florida where their daughter was born. Primrose’s commitment to a balance of purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers, coupled with a solid foundation of health and safety, led their daughter to thriving in her early years in Orlando, while giving her parents priceless peace of mind.

After moving back to the Midwest to be closer to family in 2016, they missed having a local Primrose school. Being Prairie Trail residents, the McVeys knew that Primrose would be a perfect addition to a community that valued early childhood education as much as they did as busy working professionals.

With Sean’s background in computer science and Lyndi’s in clinical pharmacy, they knew they needed an excellent team of early childhood educators to work alongside them in their school. Megan Sifert was one of their first employees bringing in a psychology background from Iowa State University and multiple years of experience in early childhood education. Having worked in various roles since joining Primrose, Megan was excited to then join the ownership group after Lyndi and Sean saw her commitment to delivering the Primrose Principles of Service to students, families, and staff.

Who children become is as important as what they know is a belief that is at the core of our Balanced Learning® approach. The Primrose exclusive early learning approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and their families.

Lyndi, Sean, and Megan understand the choice of where to send children for their early childhood education is a large decision, and not one to be taken lightly. They look forward to the chance to meet you, show you the Primrose difference, and build a trusted relationship.

Our family would love to meet yours.
